hi guys, i am new here i figured ide post my car. its still a work in progresss. here some details, its a 88 gt high milage. about 160 i think. i bout the car for 900 it wasnt running , but took me bout 2 days of some minor things and it runns good now. there where alot of things i overlooked on tha car though. biggest thing was the floors where rotted out, its leaking a little oil, antifreeze, and breakfluid!!! power steering dont work, the ebrake didnt even have a cable attached to it, some other little htings. so i have a wayy bigger project than expected hahaha. here pics the day i bought it.
after 2 weeks.

here is it as of a couple days ago
i got a flat thats why one wheel is offf, its on all 4 wheels now. its goin to the shop next week to get floors weilded in. it is weird cuz even though its leaking jus bout everything and it runs fine and doesnt over heat, it even stops when there break fluid in it. i drove it once back when i first got it runniung, o man i have fun , for about a hour i wasd driving around did acouple burnouts donuts and shit, after that the police where outside my house for 3 days. i will keep yaull updated
here a video of my exhaust, i have a exhaust leak i found it, its where the header on the passnger side and the h pipe meet. only mod the car has is equal length header, h pipe and flow master exhaust

yea i know, thats what i keep thinken bout. i know mike on herrre from amsberrryy, suck he crashed cuz i wanted to race him when mine was done. how hard is hooking up a ebrake cable, and how do u adjust the clutch cable, sometime my clutch dont engage, and i gota take my foot off it and press it bacxk down again, it also gets stuck in reverse until i do that sometimes
the kid sellin it thought he did a good job hiding the damage.
i opened the doors and pointed out the gaps and he said thats how they come from factory. i almost fell on ground laughing.
then i told him that the car is mistitled as a coupe even though its a hatch. he said that the notchbacks are titled as hatchbacks. i was like what the hell ru talking about and then he said he had some other stuff to do and had to leave.

Yea it was probably about 4 or 5 months ago I looked at it and it was for sale by another owner ( an older guy). The car was leaking everything possible, paint job sucked , and it was all bent up underneath. Also the mialege was 140,000 the time I looked at it and it now says 114,000 in the ad so I guess he must have rolled it back too.

i would cut your loses on that car and sell it way to much money needed to get that car up and looking and running good ....900 bucks and not running for 2300 you could have bought my buddys GT which has a 93 cobra driveline in the car and solid floors that dont need replacing
i know man, trust me its alot more than i thought it needed. but it runs good, it drives goood. its just little things. yesterday i it started right up, and it wasnt leaken anything , i alccauly drove it for a hour before, it stops and drives fine, i jus needa stop the leaks . and its goin to get the floors put in in a day or 2.
part the car out then or try sell it as it sits ...your going to be way over your head in that thing ...im gonna say 600 bucks for the materials plus install of the floors to be done right ???your at 1500 bucks right there and still have more headaches to go with it ...sell it or part it out and buy something that doesnt need much work
the car is deff beat but its all there. ive heard the car run before and it sounds strong.
with about $3k into it should be a real solid car

thats my point, 3 grand into a car that when its all done isn't worth 3 grand. At this point I would put the interior back in and sell it. Fox bodies aren't worth the aggravation anymore. Their realistic selling prices are dropping more and more. You could probably get your money back and maybe a little more from a factory five builder. Those guys will pay decent money for donor 5.0's and they don't care if the car is rotted. Thats just me, if you want to dump money into it thats your choice.
I can understand where he's coming from in the sense of building the stang back up... We all have that dream of making our mustangs into something, and that's what it's all about. I mean granted it's your money do what you want to do, and be proud of the work you put into it, because I think it's the most important part of having a project. I mean your mustang has potential... so in the end what i'm trying to say is, if you think it's worth the effort, than I say go for it, and if not get rid of it, part it out, donate it as some have mentioned... Look around junk yards for parts etc... Just my 2 cents Good luck

yea man, trust me if i wasnt so far into it already , i woulda sold it. but i already have the floors and subframe connectors. my cars geten them put in thursday. my cars ben running really good latly. starts up on the first try everyttime now. engines perrrsss like a kitten, has a exhaust leak but i found it no biggy. ive accauly ben geten more confience in it latly. but i hear u guys, but the floors only cost 300 for both sides, installed is gona be about 400. then jus sort out the leaks, and instal a Ebrake cable, and adjust the clutch it should pass inspection. the week i got the car, me and my friend where driven it for a hour and 30 mins, and we where rripppen on it to, so it drives fin and everything. it even stoped fine. jus needa sort out some things.
well i got some good news, and some bad news . well not really bad. due to the weather this week my 5.0 isnt getting towed out the the shop tull next week, but the good news is im going to be driving it home!!!! the uncle of the weilder doing the floors and body work, is a mech and he luvs worken on mustangs, so im gona be helpen them work on it, hes gona help me fix everything that it need to get it on the road and pass inspection. i am siked, ive ben trina get this to happen for so long, car basicaly benm sitting for 3 mounths. ill keep u guys updated with pics, hahaha burnout video is gona be a must once everythings taken care of
good new, jus got the word , guys comen to pick up the car tomrow at 12, floors geten weilded in and subframes proly. ima take some pics tonight, and then take some when it comes back!!! imm sickkeddd , should be on the road soon. i ben wana to ripp on it againb so bad hahaha
well, i have good new but more bad news lol, got done putten the floors in today, found alot more rust up in the fire wall, mad some custom panels to seal up the fire wall. here are some pics, but due to my freshly charged battrys dieing after like 10 pitchure i didnt get to get pitchure of when we finished. we weiled up the spot in the fire wall. finished slealing most of it.
well it was goin good.... then we found this
we cut out the rust, weilded panels goin up to about where the capret is, then sealed it all. and this looked kinda alarming
at the end of the day the floor was weilded and sealed in from the back seat and up front to the fire wall, i could accauly see the exhust blew the the pedals before we put them in
Wow, thats some pretty serious looking rust. I would definently not even bother with that car as its too far past gone IMO and not worth the money it would take to fix all that rust ( if it is even possible).

Wow, thats some pretty serious looking rust. I would definently not even bother with that car as its too far past gone IMO and not worth the money it would take to fix all that rust ( if it is even possible).
